In continuation of my Despatch No.440 of the 25th ultimo, I have the honour to inform you that, as expected that original work will be carried on by the Bacteriologist, a more elaborate outfit will be necessary than that contained in the list of the apparatus forwarded by the Acting Colonial Secretary of the Straits Settlements and forming Enclosure 1 of the above Despatch. In this connection I beg to draw your attention to the letter of Dr. Wright of the Federated Malay States of the 2nd ultimo, also contained in Enclosure 1, in which he lays stress on the fact that the list of apparatus given was for simple bacteriological work only.
